This print by Walsh (?) is shown courtesy of Wigtownshire Museum Sevice. Is it one of the earliest illustrations of Port Patrick? Or is it later than, and derivative of William Daniell's famous prints of 1813? Whichever, it has some intriguing anomalies. The identifiable landmarks of the old south harbour breakwater and the limekiln do not fit. The limekiln (the remains of which can still be seen today beside Campbell's Restaurant) is shown too far south and too high abouve sea level. The breakwater seems to spring from south pier which didn't exist then.
